TABLE ROCK LAKE, MO. — The Bass Pro Shops, Kevin VanDam Big Bass Classic presented by Explore Branson delivered a classic Ozarks showdown as anglers battled it out for three days on Table Rock Lake, with a strong finish that ultimately came down to an early tournament leader holding firm.

When the scales closed, it was Kent Whitaker who claimed the top spot with a 6.42-pound largemouth, a fish he brought in during hour five of day one — and one that proved impossible to beat for the remainder of the event.

Early Lead Holds Strong
In true Big Bass Tour fashion, Whitaker set the tone early and never looked back. His 6.42-pounder stayed atop the leaderboard through multiple days of pressure, as anglers cycled through key areas across Table Rock searching for a tournament-changing bite.

Despite several close calls, no fish could quite overtake the day-one leader.
