Big Bass Tour | Deep Dive | Updated Conditions Report for Mississippi River
Published on 07-30-2024
Here’s a quick breakdown of the forecasted conditions on the Mississippi River this week, brought to you by the Deep Dive App.
Water Inflows
Given the high chance of forecasted rain the day before the tournament, water inflow points could become more significant, increasing nutrient availability and attracting larger baitfish populations. Here are all the relevant inflow points for pools 7, 8, and 9 and their color-coded annual average inflow rates.

Lake Level & Current Flow
Below are the lake level and current flow charts for each pool looking back one week from July 30th. To see real-time data when you’re on the water, don’t forget to download the Deep Dive app: https://onelink.deepdiveapp.com/XkkL/ki4nxqz9
Wind Effects
Wind will not vary greatly across all pools during the tournament, however, there are some things to consider.
Winds will be mostly from the north Friday and at their strongest reaching almost 10 mph. North-facing banks may be of interest.
Be ready to adapt quickly over the weekend though as the wind will do two things: The direction will change slightly from the north to northwest and the speed will drop to a slight breeze. With this reduced wind impact over the weekend, bass may spread out more and not be concentrated in windblown areas. Explore deeper waters and less wind-exposed areas.
New Moon
There will be a new moon on Saturday which should lead to a more active early morning bite throughout the tournament. Bass will be easier to catch up shallow in the early morning, retreating to deeper water in the later morning and early afternoon. Expect the bite to slow midday.
